Amanda

Team Leader

Amanda, pictured here with her dogs Mya and Dakota, has been working at Eltham Veterinary Practice since 2006. She has been the Head Veterinary Nurse now for a few years, having finished her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing at Box Hill Tafe.

Amanda has had a big couple of years, becoming married to long time partner Brenton and building a house in Kinglake. You need a house on 8 acres when you have two horses, two dogs and two cats! Her two stunning horses; Cookie and Gem are both Australian Quarter Horses.

Amanda’s interests range from horse riding with her thwo horses to being a fanatical Richmond Football Club supporter.

Amanda loves many aspects of her job, and in particular she says: ‘you can’t beat the satisfaction of seeing a pet back to health and reunited with its owners after a long hospital stay for a severe illness’. She also loves getting to know all our clients and pets, and enjoys giving professional advice that will improve pets lives.

Nicki

Head Veterinary Nurse

Nicki joined Eltham Vet in 2018 and has been in the industry for a couple of years, having previously worked as a Canine Rehabilitation Assistant. She has greatly expanded her skills set since being with us, and has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing becoming fully qualified in 2021.

With a love for anything outdoors, depending on the season you will find Nicki on the slopes snowboarding or down the river fishing. She also likes to spend her weekends camping and four wheel driving and is a big fan of country music.

With a love and passion for the great outdoors, you will often find Nicki travelling all over the country, exploring different parts of Australia at any chance she gets! She has a special interest in remote camping/travelling and enjoys seeing the vast variety of scenery, plants and animals that she experiences on her travels.

A true pro in the field, Nicki has been camping since she was 6 months old and had completed a full lap of Australia by age 2! (thanks to mum and dad!)

Nicki also has an interest in our native wildlife and is keen to learn more about how to treat and help our native species.

The dogs pictured with Nicki are her beautiful boys Cody, Roy & Stewie.

Karly

Veterinary Nurse

Karly joined Eltham Veterinary Practice in October 2015 and quickly settled into the role of receptionist before moving into Veterinary Nursing in 2017. With over 7 years experience working in retail as a department manager at Toys R Us at Chadstone she is no stranger to the customer service industry.

She has always had an interest in studying animal behaviour and working in the animal industry. She has successfully completed a Bachelor of Science at Monash University majoring in Zoology.

She currently has five pets, Tom the Beaglier (pictured) and Mily a Maltese Shitzu as well as 3 cats Tig, Kitty and Molly.

In her spare time Karly plays mixed Basketball with a local team and will often be found at the MCG during the footy season cheering on the Melbourne Demons.

Nicole

Veterinary Nurse

Nicole started at EVP in June 2021 after relocating to Melbourne with her family and her dog Bella. After spending the majority of her life in NZ, Nicole’s husband Adam was presented with the opportunity to relocate to Doha for work, which they jumped at. After spending 2 years in Doha, they were excited at the offer to relocate again but this time to Dubai… spending 3 glorious years indulging in Middle Eastern cultures.

Being closer to the rest of the world afforded Nic and her family the experience for unforgettable travel to different destinations including, Christmas in New York and Milan, safari in Kruger National park, Calgary to Vancouver in a campervan, horse riding through a South African canyon and a divine food and wine trip, down from Lake Como to the Amalfi Coast! After all of their adventures, Nic and the family have decided it’s time for the kids to put some roots down and are now settling into Melbourne and what it has to offer.

Lateisha

Veterinary Nurse

Lateisha has always had a passion for animal rescue, spending  her first 2 years in the industry travelling NSW to assist with the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats, which involved regular trips out to rural towns.

Having joined our team in 2021, Teish loves surgery and her biggest passion is scrubbing into all sorts of procedures where she can assist and learn from the vet. Her goal is to continue expanding her knowledge in the industry and to be an advocate for our beloved furry family members. Her own two rescue babies, Jasper and Haku are her world and they’re spoilt rotten.

During downtime, Teish loves nothing more than to be surrounded by nature on trips away with her partner Bailey. She also likes to spend time with close friends enjoying good food (Japanese cuisine being her fav) and a drink while attending gigs for some live music. Lateisha has a major sweet tooth, being obsessed with cakes and sweets and having dessert is a non-negotiable her for.

Alianah

Veterinary Nurse

Alianah recently joined the team in January 2023. Working with animals has always been a passion for Alianah and a veterinary nurse was the perfect dream job for her! She recently adopted two kittens, Reggie and Otis and hopes to soon become a foster carer herself. Her favourite food is sushi and she’s obsessed with all things Peter Pan!
 
More about Alianah
Outside of work, Alianah has a huge love for camping, fishing and long road trips which occupies many of her free weekends with her fiancé. During downtime Alianah enjoys baking, going to live music gigs and to the footy to cheer on her AFL team Collingwood. She also does calisthenics, which she loves competing in and has been doing for over 7 years. Alianah also works casually as a barista at Ferguson Plarre.
 
Currently studying her cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and can’t wait to be fully qualified.

Chelsea

Veterinary Nurse

 
Chelsea joined Eltham Veterinary Practice in January 2023. She loves all animals, great and small, but has a particular fondness for dogs (especially Hungarian Vizslas), and birds. Chelsea enjoys all things nursing, particularly observing different types of procedures. Her favourite surgery to nurse and observe is an exploratory laparotomy.

Outside of work, you’ll find Chelsea outside and enjoying nature, especially at the beach. She loves travelling, with her very active Hungarian Vizsla, Rhea. Her favourite place to visit is Queensland. Chelsea’s other passions are cars, (especially Japanese cars), Formula 1, and going to car shows on weekends.
 
Chelsea plans on studying her cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2024.

Temma

Veterinary Nurse

Temma has been captivated by animals from a young age, with a particular fondness for dogs and a deep-seated obsession with horses. As a child, Temma worked at a riding school, trading time for horse riding lessons—a formative experience that fuelled a lifelong commitment to equestrian pursuits. This dedication led Temma to own horses and ponies of her own. Growing up, she actively participated in Pony Club events, and eventually took on an Off-The-Track Thoroughbred to retrain up the levels in competitive eventing and show jumping.

Outside of her veterinary work, Temma maintains a vibrant lifestyle with a keen interest in fitness. She embraces various forms of exercise, including gym workouts and outdoor fitness activities. Despite Temma’s busy lifestyle, she cherishes leisurely moments enjoying a few drinks in the sunshine with friends.

Previously, Temma worked as a head barista and continues to work as a barista on the weekends
