Puppy School is a must for all owners looking to give their puppy the very best start in life and the opportunity to grow into a well behaved, social dog. Unlike traditional training classes, puppy schools are specifically designed for dogs 8 to 16 weeks of age. This time is the puppy’s critical socialisation period where nature intends pups to start exploring away from the litter.
Combining socialisation and obedience, our school lays down a learning foundation and prepares them for a lifetime of good behaviour and companionship.
Puppy Preschool has been running now at Eltham Veterinary Practice for several years, and it aims to teach puppies good manners, in a fun, safe and disease free environment. Our classes are held undercover behind our practice so your puppy can continue to learn – rain, hail or shine!
We currently have Natalie from Leading The Hounds Dog Training as our dedicated Puppy Preschool trainer!
Each course consists of five 1 hour classes conducted over 5 weeks. Our trainer teaches “good behaviour shaping” using modern non-reward based techniques. The class size is a maximum of 10 puppies per class.
Puppy Preschool is open to all puppies aged between 8-16 weeks of age, who have had their first vaccination and have been wormed.
Upon completion of the course, each puppy will be awarded with a graduation pack complete with a hat and some goodies.
Classes are held on Wednesday nights at for 5 consecutive weeks with alternating groups at 5:30pm & 6:40pm. Booking is essential – please contact us on 9439 8650 to secure your place.
